We've taken this big, intense stout to the extreme by boosting it with whole bean dark-roasted coffee. We aren't afraid to use plenty of rich roasted barley, balanced by the bitterness of coffee to give this full-bodied stout a little extra something you've been looking for in a beer.

From 32 ounce Howler.

Not pitch black cuz I see a lot of red, healthy off white head of foam, excellent lacing.

Big coffee and roasted malt nose, some chocolate, overall roasted and bitter.

Roasted malt is more apparent than the coffee to me in the taste. Dark chocolate bitterness, here but I definitely get some sweet notes and vanilla.

Medium body, carbonation is not overbearing.

Delicious and easy drinking. I dig it.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/5/2018. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with amazing retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of vanilla, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, wood, floral, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of vanilla, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, wood, floral, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy hop; and roast, charred, coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of nutty coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted dark/brown bread, vanilla, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, wood, floral, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is an excellent American coffee stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Not overly bitter/charred. Awesome balance of rich malts and fruity/nutty coffee complexity; with nice earthy hop presence/balance against sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and awesome spot on American style example.

On tap at brewery as Out of Mind stout with Ozo coffee. Aroma is very coffee forward with a nice fresh brewed coffee character. Light chocolate and roasted malt. Pours dark brown but not black with a thick light mocha head with amazing retention.Flavor is moderately coffee forward but with a nice roast and chocolate flavor. Some dark fruit notes of cherry and plum with some medium sweetness. Medium bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a pretty enjoyable beer with a nice coffee flavor and aroma. Nice roast malt character as well with a touch of sweetness. I think I like the base stout more.
