Beers of the World country 139: Cameroon 🇨🇲

"The beer looks like your typical African lager. Golden in colours with an initial foamy head that dissipates quickly. It doesn’t smell much and also tastes like the standard African lager. Some malty bitterness with a very short and sweet finish." - beersoftheworldproject.wordpress.com

Panda thanks to Cloin and his country tick dealers. Pours hazy orange gold with a thin white head. Aroma is cereal, malt, hint of apple, bit of grass. Taste is big malt bomb, hint of cereal and apple. Bit of grass. Really thin.

Country scope panda, thanks to SHIG, 04/07/21. Very light haze on a golden pour with a just off white head. Nose is dusty fruit esters, hint of apple, grains, pale malts. Taste comprises cardboard, corn husk, light vegetal strokes, damp paper, herb, grass, grains. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Fine for what it is I guess.

Sample @ Rare Tick Extravaganza Part 1, shared with haddock down there, many thanks to Grumbo for this! Light mist to a golden body, foamy white head. Cobweb aroma, with additional dust and spidersnest. Continues to taste. Awful, and clearly hasn't travelled well.

9th May 2021. The Great World Awakening tasting with Minutmat, assisted by Grumbo (who supplied 8 of the beers). We had 14 beers from 13 different countries as we tried to add some new countries to improve our stats. 11cl sample between us. White head on a golden body, soapy feel to this one, mini-cobwebs too, doesn't travel well. A mild maltiness can be detected I suppose.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Golden colour, foamy white head and earthy aroma with cardboard notes. Taste is sweetish, mouldy, corn grain, musty, earthy, with light bitterness. Light bodied, light carbonation, short finish. Not the best.
