Crisp and fruity with a hint of honey, this ale brewed with Michigan cherries is light on the palate, yet full of surprising depth and flavor. The cherries contribute a tart fruit character, while a touch of honey adds a slight sweetness.

The pour produces a tall, fluffy white head over a hazy, light gold body. The aroma is snack stand cherry fruit pie. It has the cherry, the pie crust and the sugary icing. As it sits, the cherry aroma seems to build, and in doing so begins to become a bit medicinal and artificial. Tastes like a blond ale with cherry candy dropped into it. For fruit beer, I’ll stick with Dunedin or New Glarus or any of the others that do this trick well.

Bottle. Strong, overpowering maraschino cherry aroma. Hazy golden with a moderate white head. Bitter wheat and fake cherry flavor. I’m not a cherry lover to begin with ... this is exceptionally nasty in my book.

Great cherry smell aroma, but a weak flavour, although still good for a jar.

Purchased at Breeze Thru Wine & Spirits in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed after coming home to my suicidal cat tried to eat through and digest a shoe box. Fun clean up times. Appearance a light, slightly cloudy gold with a rich bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet, cherries, like cherry 7-up, maybe a little bit of malt. Taste is high in carbonation and belch factor, it does kind of taste like a cherry soda, not much of a bitterness in the back, very light sour, kind of has a NyQuill flavor. After all that though, I don’t think it’s that bad, for some reason part of me kind of likes it.

Draft from the Atlanta Airport. Pours a slightly cloudy gold with about a finger of white head. Aroma of sweet and tart cherries with a little wheat. Taste is lightly sweet and very lightly sour. Cherries and wheat. Medium bodied with a somewhat creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, pretty good. Not something I would drink every day but something to enjoy every once in a while.

Bottle. Big marachino cherry aroma with a bit of wheat. A rather fake nose. Pretty deep gold color with a fine, high head. Ok taste, with cherry and wheat. Too much like a soda, but ok.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy light gold with a thin beige head. The aroma is maraschino cherries, and not much else. The flavor is wheat and malty sweetness and cough syrup. The palate is medium and sticky. Overall, a very upfront and abrasive fruit beer.

First time I ever drank Cherry Wheat was as my "chug-it-fast-you’re-getting-on-an-airplane panic reliever." I remember the beer not going well the first time along, and it does no better now. Other than the cherries, this beer is flavorless, a mildly tart, mildly sweet new entrant to the category of Beer For People Who Don’t Like Beer. (6/08)

12 ounce bottle from State Line Liquors of all places. Pours a clear amber color with a thin creamy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of candied cherries, and not much else. Some tart notes, and very faint wheat notes. The taste is dry bready notes and maraschino cherries. Medium bodied.
