Pours chestnut brown from the bottle. The head fizzes and dies. Light caramel aroma with just a touch of spice. Sweet, yet mildly dry and set atop a highly carbonated palate. A light alcohol warmth is noticeable. A little watery at the finish. Quite drinkable, but somewhat bland. Okay.

Smooth and malty beginning. The body is round and slightly malty, fresh with dry roasted hints. Long dry bitter roasted and moderate sweetish aftertaste, not too much bitterness. Highly drinkable, nice roasted sweet espresso, milk chocolate, round and nice.

Sampled from tap at the brewpub. Clear, dark brownish amber with a light beige head. Sweetish, malty and a little roasty aroma of caramel, some chocolate and hints of coffee. Sweet, malty and slightly roasty taste of caramel, honey, nuts, some chocolate and hints of coffee, followed by a short, slightly roasty-bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay.

Bottle from Sterk Avondverkoop. Pours hazy ruddy color with a slight beige head. Aroma of mild roasty malt with some mild fruits. Med minus body. Flavor is aroma with some nutiness. Not at all bitter, but it is moving towards dry. Decent dubbel, but it could use more body.
