Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch nach getrockneten Früchten, Hefe, Karamell. Geschmack hefig, Karamell, Früchte, leicht gewürzig.

Bottle at the Fiddler, Den Haag. Poured a clear deep chesnut brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is of malt and caramel. The the flavour is medium bitter with yeast, roasted malt, toffee and caramel on the smooth and inoffensive palate. Rivals Wesmalle Dubbel IMO.

Dark red-brown colour. No head. malty and some sweet, fruity notes. Slight smokiness in the finish. Not a nice mouthfeel; big carbonation and thin texture.

30 cl. bottle @ Parents. Dark brown with a thin head. Aroma of roasted malts and caramel. Taste is a bit too thin for my liking

Bottle from Jumbo supermarket, Den Burg, Texel, Netherlands, 27.09.11 consumed outside Frank (camper) at Den Hoorn campsite, Texel island the same evening Pours chestnut with a good clarity. There is a very slight metallic edge to this and at first I felt it was a little tinny tasting. However it is better than expected and a decent Dubbel, soft in mouth with a nice carbonation. Some caramel, and a nice fruity tang finish things off, good beer despite my initial thoughts. A5 A5 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Bottle (Dank an Quack-Duck!): "Dirty" amber coloured, lots of floaties visible; restrained sweet caramelly nose with delicate traces of roasted malt, vinous-fruity (dried fruits...) undertones; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, pretty light bodied, but soft; short caramelly finish, followed by a slight bitterness in the aftertaste. Not bad, but boring.....

For an Abbey Dubbel this is a pretty good beer. Not the best, but better then average. Smell is a bit dull and not really nice, but a nice dark brown color and a nice taste.

Bottle from Bier Koning. Hazy brown beer, good but short lived cream coloured head. Light airy palate. Softish and semi dry. Even malt, trace of hop bitterness. Drinkable but somewhat dull Dubbel.
