Volume 2, bottle in a duvel tulip. Pours a very murky and cloudy plum purple. 3 finger brown head fades slowly to a 1 finger that stays around. Sweet nose, some sugars and dry wheat notes. Taste is very spicy, sweet with some grassiness. It’s very spicy with some blueberry.

Bottle from John’s Grocery. Pours dark brown color with khaki head. Yeasty and slightly funky aroma with toasted malts and molasses. Toasted malt and caramel flavors with some dough and candi sugar. A little earthy. Medium body with lively carbonation.

Chevy Chase, DC 330 ($6.50): Pours a dark brown with a large brownish head. Aroma is weird funk, chocolate, burn malts, and spices. Weird, weird aroma, but good. Taste is equally weird. You got the roasted malts in force. Some hop bite is present. That Stillwater yeast makes an appearance. This one is a sipper for sure. Pretty intense. Leaves hefty, stout-like aftertaste. Quite good, and very much in character for them weird Stillwater brews.

11.2 oz. bottle, pours black / dark brown with a voluminous beige head. Aroma of burnt sugar, toasted malt, Belgian yeast, floral notes, berries and spices. Flavour is quite sweet for a saison, with burnt brown sugar, roasted malt and yeast upfront, followed by floral notes and spices. Rather sweet and burnt with very high carbonation - doesn't strike me as a saison, more like some weird dark Belgian hybrid brewed with unusual spices. Decent experiment, though not overly enjoyable.

Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is a nice dark sugar with some sweet fruit. Flavor is sweet candi sugar with some fruity esters. Finish has some burnt sugar. Its a little too sweet for my liking but does have a few things going for it.

33cl bottle from Struise shop. BB 10/2012. Brune, col beige.

bottle@home: extremely dark brown with a purple hue with a non-lasting tanned head, smell is fermenting dark fruits with a strong presence of forest-like earth, slight chocolate, dark spices, minor alcohol & some malt, initial taste is mashed, overripe dark fruits, dark malt mixed in with some minor dirt & cocoa + chocolate which turns into bitter into an almost coffee-like flavour in the aftertaste mixed in with some spices, touch of porto & some rotting liquor cherries, very odd but also interesting & rather nice, dry, medium body but drinks sluggishly, definitely a sipper, cool label
