Wow. Hardcore bitterness, well peated, but not overly so. Thick, rich and creamy. Loads of licorice and coffee. Great beer, well balanced.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour, beige-brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, liquorice, hint of leather, just light peaty, light booze, wood, caramel. Flavour is medium sweet to sweet, caramel, liquorice, hint of peat, light fruity, wood, boozy, bordering on green apples, roasted malts, bitter woody finish. Medium bodied, slick. Good, but far from their best, and not nearly as peated as expected.

Shared from bottle at puttetjes’. Black with tan head. Sweet roasted chocolate malts, mild peat, licorice, salmiak, some fruity almost tart berries. Big sweet, light salt and bitter. Over medium body and soft carbonation. Light and balanced aged palate. Nice roasty, and not too peaty.

Bottle from Saveur Biere. Deep dark brown beer, cola looking with small beige head. Aroma has lots of sugar, some roastiness, malts, light whiskey feeling and hints of coffee. Taste has sweet sugar and caramel with malts, some whiskey also. Low carbonation, medium+ body. A bit too one-sided.
