Hazy orange with a white head. Classic IPA profile dumbed down very slightly to fit the pale ale catagory, though that might be more perception than reality. Lingering bitter finish. Very enjoyable beer.

Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is grassy hop, yeast, light citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light fruity, hop bitter, dry malt, light pepper spice palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Racing-themed APA by Bear Republic, with very frothy, snow white, thick moussy head leaving an irregularly shaped rim of thick papery lacing around the glass, crowning a lightly hazy ’old gold’ coloured beer with light orangey hue, turning a deeper shade of orange and equally cloudy with sediment. Delicate and fragrant aroma of blood orange flesh, mandarin peel, spruce shoots, biscuit, candied lemon, green banana, fresh apple cake, wormwood, sweet paprika powder, pine-scented soap, yellow kiwi, hemp, burnt chicken skin, freshly grated ginger root, cigarette tobacco. Lively but clean fruity onset, hints of green banana, kiwi and starfruit, mildly sourish and subduedly sweetish, medium carbo just fit for the style, supple and lightly oily and somewhat soapy mouthfeel, medium bodied. Pleasant cereally malt middle with a caramelly edge to it, supporting the vivid, beautifully restrained fruitiness and building the perfect bridge to a hoppy finish, providing adequate, quenching, resinous and spicy but by no means harsh bitterness as well as a wealth of retronasal dank, piney and citrusy aromas. This must be among the finest APAs I ever had, I can easily see how it scores so high on this site; it has a stunningly beautiful balance between sweetish malts and fruit on the one hand and spicy, oily, bittering and delicately aromatic hops on the other hand but the latter remain sufficiently in place to remain APA instead of falling into IPA domain. Very refined and refreshing, absolutely adorable - I would recommend this example to anyone who is interested in getting to know the ’old’ American pale ale style.

A light orange beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has mangos, mandarin and grapefruits, some pineapple. Nice and fresh. Taste has grapefruits, nice and slightly caramelly maltyness, medium bitterness, also notes of herbs. Medium bodied. Tasteful beer, also the maltyness is playing the own role.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Hazy golden/amber body with a medium off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of tea, caramel, grapefruit and menthol. Flavour of orange, toffee apple, biscuit, black grapes and floral hops. Medium body with an oily texture. Light fizz. Lots going on here. Good beer.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow-gold, with mid-sized head. Aroma has a lot of citrus and some hops. Flavor has a definite touch of citrus--lemon to be precise--with hoppy bitterness and some grassiness. Bitter backbone and finish to this one. Not Bad.
