Introducing our year-round Almanac IPA, a West Coast hop bomb overflowing with hop flavors and aromas. We start with a copper-hued malt base of California-grown two-row barley, German Vienna Malt, Crystal Malts and Biscuit Malt. Then we start layering on the hops—grown all along the west coast in California, Oregon and Washington. We combine Magnum, Chinook, Cascade, El Dorado and Simcoe to create our own unique twist on the IPA style with intense aromas of grapefruit and tangerine peel, pineapple and pine trees. The finish has a clean bitterness and light saltine cracker note.

On tap at Craft Beer Islington. It’s some mango pine lime crystal malt. Decent hop too sweet.

Bottle from Bier:Thirty. Soft, mellow aroma leads into a more pungent taste. Hops blend well adding tons of citrus essence without overdoing the bite. Clear, medium golden body with small creamy off white head. Malt still present in the background, adding a hint of sweetness.

Draft at Craft 100 April 2015 - London. Pours lightly hazy gold with a tight, creamy white head. The nose holds marmalade, aged pine and pale, bready malts. Medium sweet flavor with biscuity pale malts, Earl Grey tea, pine, crackers. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly resinous to finish with further pale bread, ripe citrus, pine. Not bad for an Atlantic-aged IPA.

Bottle to tulip. Massive hop aroma of grapefruit, citrus with slight pine backing. Hazy sunned orange with an off-white head that leaves quickly but has slight patterns on the glass. Flavor is grapefruit, with more overt resins and pine floor than the aroma. Stone wheat malt leads to a medium-full mouthfeel. Dry-ish finish is pleasing. A very good beer.
