Showcasing Mosaic hops and a delicate blend of malts, this Extra Special Bitter was brewed with the very finest ingredients available. Naughty Hildegard ESB supports big flavours of guava, mango and citrus to deliver a juicy hop-malt balance that is deceptively easy to drink. A Pacific Northwest jam on a UK classic.

A lightly hazed dark amber ale esb with a thin off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, light orange pulp, light tropical fruits, very nice. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with resinous orange hops, oily mouth feel, nice and smooth, surprisingly well done for the style. Bottle at Pushkinwows New squirter inauguration.

650ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange-amber with a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of mango, pineapple, orange, peach and floral with caramel malt in the background. Sweet fruity flavour of mango, guava, orange peel, peach, apricot, light pine resin and caramel malt with a dry, hoppy, bitter finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Wow, delicious and refreshing. Awesome, a world class ESB.

Bottle shared. Thanks Tim! Pours a copper color with a finger of foam that lingers. Huge tropical fruit bouquet dominates the nose. Super juicy with a very new world nose. Good carbonation with cherry and citrus tang on the palate. Quite a bitter finish that lingers. Very nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Naughty Hildegard on 03 Sep 2016 at 16:46 - Score: 7. Pours beautifully amber, nice foamy look. Aroma full of tropical fruits, some aromatic hops, fragrant. Tastes light, malt sweetness balanced with hops, easygoing and clean. Very modern interpretation of ESB. Lingering hop bitterness ensues.

Deep amber color. Lots of apricots, peaches and earthy notes. The hops are very bright for the style. Well balanced, very earthy, with good malt backbone. Modest bitter finish. Excellent new world example of the style. Well balanced.

On tap at St. Augustine’s. Pours a clear pale copper with a tan head. Aroma is caramel, sweet, with tropical fruits notes. Taste is sweet, caramel, resin, tropical fruits bitterness. Sweet, tropical fruit bitterness aftertaste. Very good. Though not a ESB at all, but who cares? :-)

Bottle, thanks a lot David! Amber, rocky off-white head. Resinny pine and lychee hop aroma. Grapefruit, grass and pine hop notes on the palate, medium malt base, some saltiness. Bitter earthy finish. Certainly not lacking in flavour...

Very grainy and herbaceous, overwhelming the resiny hops. Good, but a bit too much for me.
2016-06-23, bottle from BCL, 8-5-8-4-16=41
Compared to the tap I had a few days ago, the aroma is more expressive, more hoppy, clearly piney. Nice bready malts, I would be happier without the cereals touch, but it’s very clean, more than the tap, mild character from the yeast, and potent resiny hops, with a delicate fruity touch.
Excellent.
2016-06-18, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 10oz, 7-5-7-3-14=36
Amber color, clean. Some aroma of quality hop and caramel. Highly carbonated, a bit too sour, some malt and caramel, some British yeast, and resiny hopping, almost woody or vegetable.
Robust beer, not as good as I remember from previous years.
2014-09-04, bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver, 8-5-8-4-16=41
Hazy bright amber color with medium head. Wonderful fresh Mosaic aroma, fruity, and some caramel. Light residual sweetness; the lean malt and caramel flavor is very good and doesn’t hide the qualities of the hop; resiny and fruity final, but also a bit woody/vegetable; in the bottle it has just a bit more ESB flavor, otherwise it’s a pure IPA.
2014-08-24, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 8-5-8-5-17=43
Amber color, clean, with compact head. Strong hop aroma, very fruity, with pineapple, mango and more. Sweetish caramel flavor, malt, then powerful hopping with plenty of resins and fruits, sweet oranges and some tropical fruits. Bold but balanced, clean and flawless.
On draught? Delicious.
