Dark Skull is a heavy collaboration between our metal-loving brewer Peter and musician and craft beer-fan Victor Brandt (Entombed AD, Firespawn, Totalt Jävla Mörker). They headbanged their heads together to create a stout in a true Entombed AD spirit. Brewed with roasted barley, chocolate and oat malts, roasted coconut and coconut sugar.

Bottled 330ml. -from Beergium. Pitch black coloured, small to medium sized brownish head, coconut and whiff of alcohol in the nose. Roasted malt, coconut, wood and mild chestnut with notes of licorice and alcohol. Light dry roasty finish.

Bottle from Systembolaget, Stockholm. Pours black with some brown foam on top. Nose is sweet, light cocoa and some dusty liquid chocolate. Taste is sweet chocolate, dark fruits and some coffee. Light alcohol kick coming out at the end. Smooth and actually very drinkable, dark liquorice finish.

Sample from bottle at SBWF 2017. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of dark malt, chocolate, some raisin and hints of coconut. The same in the taste. The body was full and the finish on the sweet side.

Black color. Mild aroma where the cardboard too plays a role. Good body strength, but also too much alcohol cutting through; wood, chocolate, light smoke. Good chocolate praline flavor, the alcohol is quite strong, dark caramel. Warming alcohol in the final.

BOTTLE at tasting. Almost black, dark espresso head. The nose is full on black olive brine, light smoky? Leather? Weird. The taste is quite different - rich dark chocolate and cocoa paste, nice subtle hints of coconut, dark toasty coffee-ish bitterness. The body is not that silky, other that... Quite tasty and that thankfully not too hard of flavorings.

Bottle from Bottle Baron. Black body with a medium tan head. Good lacing. Aroma of chocolate cake, caramel and plum. Flavour of brown sugar, wood and fig. Medium to full body with a creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A strong, flavoursome beer. I didn’t get any coconut but this is a tasty, well balanced beer.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours black with a tint of red and a small, beige head. Interesting aroma, a blend of coconut, booze and dark, overripe fruit. Rich, sweet body, if not exactly fat. Carbonation to the low side, some complex sugars but enough hops to avoid it turning cloying. Interesting. 260717

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pitch black body with a big, lacing, beige head. Looks just amazing. Aroma has dark, roasted malt with hint of expresso coffee. Flavor is quite sweet, dark roasted malt, dark chocolate, coconut and quite bitter. Full bodied with a sweet and bitter aftertaste. Pretty solid, but feels a bit raw and too sweet for my likings.
