What’s this? A British-style IPA named after the man who defeated His Majesty’s Royal Navy in the War of 1812? Consider this a bold, hoppy (and mildly ironic) plunder of war.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Slightly hazy golden with a small, off-white head. Fat, fruity nose. Very full body with sweet, fruity accents and dry, citrusy hops. Nice all right. 310507

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of hops and malt. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of fruit - among them grapefruit.

Shared by badgerben. This is a solid pale ale. Herbal hop aroma. Gold color, clear and lightly carbonated. Flavor is mild hops. On the mild side, I am surprised to see the abv is so high.

Clear amber pour with an average, frothy, diminishing head. Nose presents light to average malts, mostly grain. The hops, as expected in an IPA, come to the forefront, though average in intensity for this style. Notes of flowers, perfume, grapefruit and orange. The flavor is bitter with undertones of sweet orange juice. The bitterness lingers. Medium body with a sticky texture. Average carbonation. Tasty.

Golden amber pour, very translucent, lots of bubbles and one finger of bubbly head that dies down quickly. Aromas are of fruit, hops and soap. Flavor is a little unbalanced up front where things start off really grainy and head into unchartered (and somewhat unexpected) territories of bitter hops. There is a slight chemical/phenol bite at the end that pulls it even further off course as it highlights the alcoholic content. Body is very thin feeling.

This starts with a large, three dimensional, sticky white head over a brilliantly clear gold body. The aroma is fruity citrus. Subdued sweet flavor. The hops never really burst out in this in either the flavor or finish. Needs more malt and hops to go with the top IPAs.

Clearish straw-colored body, thin off-white head. Soapy, earthy, piney hops nose, with biscuit and spice. Rather strong soapy body with flower petals and pine, sweet breads, and a long, bitter, spicy finish. Cerealy, a touch nutty. Pretty good IPA.

Bottle Pours a pelucid slightly orangeish yellow. Large persistant foamy white head. Long lasting sticky lacing. Soft dull but attractive hoppy aroma. Not the sharp spicy knd of other western IPAs. Mild malty backbone and lightly fizzy. Overall a nice middle of the road IPA. Thanks to pinkzambia fo the bottle.

This beer is a clear dark golden-amber color with a medium fluffy off-white head with decent retention. Thin sheets of lacing. Aroma of grassy hops and citrus. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Piney hops at first, with sweet malt and spices in the background. At 7.5%, the beer seems to straddle the line between "Regular" and "Imperial" IPA. The finish is bitter hops at first, with a resiny malt undertone. The aftertaste is long-lasting and dry. As with most of GLBC’s beers, this is well done.

Sampled on draft at the State College beer festival this beer poured a caramel color with a large yellow-tan head. The aroma was sour nut and floral hops. The flavor was strong bitter sour nut, piney hops and floral hops with a bitter and sour finish.
