Bomber from Whole Foods. Dark mahogany color with sizeable tan head. Creamy but less than full body. Roasted grain aroma with a touch of anice. Tastes of coffee (surprise) and dark fruit. Malty bitter coffee finish that stays on the palate awhile.

Tap at Growlers USA in Honolulu. Dark dark brown pour with minimal head. Aroma is not at all expected - no coffee and not even that roasty, more like ester-y, dark fruit, mild but super concentrated lime cleaner. Not bad just weird. Taste follows. Dark fruit and lime and some fruitier coffee, but very light palate and not that boozy. Actually pretty good but more like a Black and Tan or stout-y black IPA given the light palate and bright flavors.

Bomber thanks to hauxe. Pours almost black with a tan head. Aroma of dark malts and espresso. Taste is espresso, dark malts, alcohol, but primarily coffee. Finish is roasty, bitter and boozy. Good but not great.

Tap at J’s Lagunitas event. Pours a pitch black with a finger of beige foam. Chocolate forward nose with some light malt and coffee notes. Booze hidden well. Good coffee notes on the palate/finish. 65cl bottle @ William K, kurvi. 8,9% version. Poured near black with a thin brown head. Aroma has strong coffee, roasted malt, licorice, spicy notes. Lots of coffee here, builds up nicely with some licorice, mild ashy notes, roasted malt, dark chocolate. Long finish. Nice, but expected better body though.

On tap at Lagunitas tap room, Pataluma (CA, USA). Black pour, brownish head much retention. Nose: Tiramisú, macchiato, rich aroma. Mouth: cappuccino shake, frappe, milk, decent bitterness. Tasty! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught @ Tavern29. Opaque dark brown with large foamy beige head, caramel aroma, high carbonation, lightly bitter cappucchino taste, thick body, longish bitter coffee finish. Great brew.

Bomber, muled from CA by Button the Mule, almost a year ago. Clear, very dark, chestnut brown. Film of sticky, pale tan head. Nose still has a load of coffee. More espresso than cappuccino. Rich, roast malts. Hints of milk chocolate and dried vine fruit. Taste is lip sticking sweet, first off, turning big, charred, roast bitter. Some coffee grind tang. Smooth and silly easy drinking at the ABV. Long, tangy, roast coffee bitter finish. Too bitter for the missus, so I got to drink the lot, which I did in no time. Like rabbit gravy. Cheers kid.
