Burnished gold hue with a persistent, rocky white head. Floral, spicy aroma redolent of lilacs, white pepper, and Barlett pears with undertones of blueberry honey and roses. A pleasant balance of crisp hop bitterness and clean malts adorn the spicy, herbal hop flavors lasting into a dry, refreshing finish.

22 oz bomber; says Belk’s ESB on label and in picture; correction sent in; nose of grainy hay and light hops; Orange-gold with a medium off-white head; flavor of hop bitterness, caramel, with an apricot fruity note, getting more bitter as it warms; finish is light bitterness.

Bottle courtesy of Plucier: Poured a deep brown color ale with a big nice foamy head with good retention. Aroma of PNW hops is well balance with caramel malt. Taste is a well balance mix between some caramel malt with light toffee and some great hops presence with provide mild bitterness and a great floral aspect to this beer. Great carbonation with a full body which really fit the style. I really like and enjoy the balance in the beers from this brewery.

What I like about ESBs is the subtle, sweet flavors and the lingering, but not overpowering, bitterness in the finish. Anderson Valley’s rendition of this style is all about bitter and not a lot about subtlety. In fact, this bordered on an American Pale Ale for me. The hops are just too big and out of whack with the malts. Beautiful pour with a large, frothy, sticky and lasting head. Amber, clear body. The aroma is mostly malty with notes of grain and nuts, but there are hints of flowers and perfume. The flavor is heavily bitter with only a slightly sweet underbelly. Somewhat soapy, flowery. Medium body with a sticky texture. Average carbonation.

Translucent orange with a very whispy white head. Smells of malt, grain and yeast. Flavor was very pleasant. Strong biscuit flavor, malt. Has a pleasant bite and citrus after taste. Not the best ESB I’ve ever had, but a good representative of the style.

Light hop aroma backed by very light malt. Amber gold color with a white head that isn’t tall, but laces where it is. Starts with a good mouthfeel, and some light hop and firm malt. It isn’t exactly dry, but it isn’t exactly sweet. This is well balanced and quite tasty.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with a white head. Has a malty and floral hopy aroma. Sweet malty hoppy flavor with some hints of grapefruit. Malty finish with a long bitter hoppy aftertaste.

Bottled (as Boont ESB). Orange golden colour with longlasting white head. Aroma is hops, caramel and some kind of yeastyishness. Flavour is fruity and flowery hops mainly. The finish gets dominated by flowery hops and yeast. Wellbalanced, but at the same time a quite thin brew. Long grassy and yeasty aftertaste.

Bottled as "Boont ESB".
Pale amber color, good steady, creamy white head. Citrus, hops, pineapple in the nose. Citric, lemony, yeasty flavor. Very acidy hoppy, dry aftertaste lingering in the mouth.
