Bottle. Dark clear black, small fizzy tan head, dissipates quickly, some lacing. Aroma is spiced, cinnamon, nutmeg, ask spice, a bit of roast. Flavor is light sweet, light plus bitter, very spiced, lingering luck a penny bitterness. Medium body. Meh.

Bottle - Pumpkin, chocolate and roast malts. Jet black with a rich beige head. Pumpkin, spice, bitter and a bit starchy. Starts good, but ends bad.

I can’t remember whether I sampled a draft or a bottle. In any case, deep garnet-red body, thick puffy beige head. Herbal nose with lots of pumpkin flesh. Pulpy body, herbal, with cinnamon, nutmeg, and toast in addition to chocolate. Good.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out shitloads of pumpkins, spices, and roast. Flavour brings out shit tons of pumpkin puree, pumpkin spices, along with roasted malt. The pumpkin notes are extremely strong, with a long lingering spicy pumpkin finish. Surprisingly delicious stuff.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with orange highlights and a large foamy orange-brown head that left decent lacing. The aroma was strong pumpkin pie spices - mostly cinnamon and nutmeg. The flavor was malty and bready with a very strong cinnamon presence and moderate nutmeg, clove and anise notes with an undertone that was a bit roasty and had some fruity and floral hop notes. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

Bottle: Pours a very dark brown with a creamy layer of head nearly two fingers deep. Great retention and light sheet lacing. At first sniff, I immediately think Pumking. Swirling spices of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla. Lively. I can smell the crust, so to speak; one of my benchmarks for a pumpkin ale. The light roast malt presence and vanilla infusion separates the Warlock from the King. Really smooth and well integrated. It takes off the perceived edge from the spiciness. A little cocoa and espresso, but the vanilla is soothing. If this was an evolution of Pumking, it is superior. I could drink this every fall and be a happy dude.

Bottle @ Exira Beer Summit IV, Day 3. Thanks to jcnielsen! Pours a clear reddish brown appearance with a light brown head. Pumpkin cookie, cardamom, chocolate, vanilla aroma. Somewhat chewy, caramel, very spicy, chalky, cardamom, cinnamon, pumpkin, sweet flavor. Sort of fun to drink at first but then kind of annoying.

chocolate, medium sweetness, light sweetness, minimal head, black, medium body. Pumpkin and spice aroma, overly spiced taste, finish is on cloying side. Pumking is a better tasting pumpkin stout, for an imperial pumpkin there are better ones out there than this.

Pour is a dark red with a small white head. Aroma is a nice cinnamon and nutmeg. More of the nutmeg shines through. Flavor is at first a nice creamy vanilla malt followed by the cinnamon and nutmeg. Can’t say there is much pumpkin in this, its all about the spices used in pumpkin pie. Very creamy, rich and spicy.
