Sampled @ Carnivale Brettanomyces. Hazy orange color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, brett indeed, a hint of fruitpeel and a slight bitter. Average body and carbonation. Ok beer.

Thanks for sharing! Sampled draft @ De Prael during Carnivale Brettanomyces #4. Murky amber with no head. Nose is mop brett, dirty barn, light wood & some vinegar. Taste is soapy, fizzy, mop brett, dull watery, lightly watery, horseblanket,… Flat, dull watery,… Unpleasant brett character & badly constructed. Not a fan.

From tap at De Prael for Carnivale Brettanomyces. Saison with wild yeast, with an off-white, lacing, more or less stable head and apricot blonde, cloudy appearance. Aroma of orange, butterscotch, peach, redcurrant, gooseberry, leather, sherry, dry hay and the typical, in this case almost Orval-like ’horseblanket’ aroma of Brett. Crisp fruity onset, bit sharpish even, very fruity, green berries, orange peel, yoghurt but not too overdone, soft bready malts remain dominant in the middle, bit caramelly, ever more drying towards the finish, with an unmistakable, refreshing Brett sourishness along with citrussy hops. Not the most extreme beer even for this style, but flavourful and certainly well balanced.

Tap at de Prael. Hazy dark golden with almost no head. Quite mineral, white pepper, canal water, hay, sand, sea water... I get a lot of beach here. Light sour with almost salty minerals. Medium bodied, quite dry.
