2009 vintage. Murky brown pour, tiny brown head. Huge aroma of sweet bready, brown sugar/port soaked bread. Soft mouthfeel, low carb. Huge burnt sugar boozy finish. Loads of dark super ripe fruits. Low bitterness, a nice sipper.

8.4 oz can. Pours an orange/mahogany with light head. Aromas of meaty dried apricots and raisins, wet wool and bready malts; plus there is some funny cleaning fluid notes. Odd. Flavors of vinous oaky port, dry jammy stoned fruit, and bready malts

Bottle. A- Fruit cake, dates, almond liqueur, candied apples. A- Deep bronze color, clear liquid, minimal head. T- Dates, figs, fruit cake, raisins, molasses, brandy. P- Full body, average texture, mild carbonation, complex finish. O- 11 years old is more than it's fair share of age. Had a great aroma of something familiar that I can't quite place. Almost like a tequila almendrado. Aged beautifully. Lots of complex fruit flavors.

12 year old bottle shared by Tom. Some sweetness and a dry earthiness that is the predominant character. This did not age well.

2015 bottle ordered from Rad Beer. Aroma had decidedly bitter, if fruity, vinous streak - before developing a smoother dough and dark fruits aroma. Murky opaque amber brown. Foamy translucent white head. Sweet but not overly so. Dried fruit, dough, delicate spice, burnt caramel, molasses and light booze. Heavy bodied. Creamy. Flat carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Lovely stuff - the barrel ages compliments and doesn't distract.

Bottle thanks to cgarvieuk. A great cellar dive! Appearance - deep brown with red chinks. Nose - sultana, fig, wood and wood spice. Taste - light oxidation sherry note, prunes, figs and wood. Palate - medium bodied, light oxidation and dry-ish woody finish. Overall - really interesting and complex beer that has been aged. Thanks Craig!
