7 October 2022. At Yard House, San Antonio. Shared with the lovely Anke!

Hazy yellow, thin, off-white head. Aroma of ripe banana, apple, nutmeg, clove, dough, honey. Taste has sweet banana & apple in a bready & honeyish malt body surrounded by spicy clove and wheaty notes. Floral hoppy finish, a tad peppery; lingering spices & yellow fruit. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Solid example of the style, nice!

Well, it is what it says. Cloves, banana, light sweet wheat. Easy drinking. A good palate cleanser

Poured from a 12 oz can dated December 12, 2019. Aroma is classic hefe - loads of banana and faint bubblegum esters with light wheat notes. Light clove notes as well. Pours a hazy, pale, dusty, golden straw color with a very large, thick, pillow white head that recedes fairly quickly to a small film that lingers. Light lacing and no legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with light wheat notes. No hop flavors and low bitterness. Quite a bit of banana esters with faint bubblegum. Light clove notes. Lingering bubblegum and sweetness in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a tasty beer. I haven't had a hefeweizen in a very long time but this is nice and refreshing with a good balance of esters and phenolics.

Can at home picked up in Craft Pride, Austin Texas, 18th December 19. Pours a perfect hazy straw beer, with an authentic frothy white head. Aroma is yeasty, some light floral notes and spice. Taste is again very authentic, true to the style, smooth, yeasty, floral, sweet and bitter, good depth, light banana, some spice. Great beer.

Exactly what you want in a hefeweizen: light but with enough body to carry the front of honey, banana, and clove through to the finish, underlined by bread-and-lemon yeastiness and a grassy/floral bitterness carrying into the fade. Gorgeous hazed gold pour with a massive white cap and endless lacing. Bright and bubbly and crisp; i.e. a delightful pint. Sets the standard for what an American hefeweizen can be.

(Tap) hazy pale yellow colour with a small white head; aroma of ink, compote; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish (update) much better on tap at the source: cloudy, bright yellow colour with a small white head; aroma of lilies, cloves, banana; creamy palate; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish

Can shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a clearish gold with a full 2 fingers of foam that dissipate. Banana and clove forward aromas with some light lemon. Clean and smooth on the palate. Body is a bit thin compared to the German classics, but the flavors are there. Lingering clove and faint floral, banana and light grassy hops on the finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hefe Weizen on 20 Oct 2018 at 17:05 - Score: 7

Can from Mark B thanks for helping me try this elusive bugger. Lightly hazy straw yellow color with a thin bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Lots of banana and clove on the nose and flavor with light grainy sweet bready malt underneath and a light tartness in the finish. Very tasty Hefe.
