Captain’s Log: 1938. A young boy is homebound. Suddenly all sounds go mute and he is shrouded in light. He disappears without a trace. 30 years later he returns. He speaks of space monks and distant galaxies. Some call him messiah, some call him the devil. After a while the world forgets about the boy, but he swears to go back. That boy was me.

Bottle. Beermoth, Manchester. Wallet buster. Pale gold. Lots of haze. Nose has peachy brett. Orange rind and pith. Soft, creamy grain. Taste is soft sweet, and bretty. Touch of citrus rind bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. A little over carbonated. Short, sweet and grainy finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Clear amber with a lively and rather fizzy, off-white head. Very funky nose with heavy Brett presence. Medium body, some sweet caramel in the base, then funk and phenols come rushing in, but it maintains being pleasant throughout. 140616

Tap at Fairbar, Aarhus. Poured slightly hazy pale gold with a small off white head. Aroma is floral, aniseed, medicinal. High sweetness, light bitterness and sourness. Light/medium body, sticky texture. Seemed muddled, not impressed.

Draft sample @ Haand fest ’16, Drammen. Shared with the Norwegian tasting crew. Orange versant sur léger doré, col crémeux blanc-cassé. Arôme au nez de brett, léger fleuri, pointe de malt offrant une certaine note épicée. Palais met de suite le côté brett en avant ce qui est dommage pour ce profil de saison. Petite note fleurie houblonnée avec un léger fruité citronné. Le brett parait un peu surfait et l’usage de seigle ajoute une certaine touche grains plus volumineuse en bouche. Pas mauvaise, mais je ne comprends pas l’usage de brett pour ce style.

On tap at Både&. It’s an unclear orange colored beer with a small, dense off-white head. Nice lacing. Lightly funky nose, with citrus and pepper, a light malty touch in the back. Peaches, orange and some lemon hints. It’s a bit sweet on the palate, like in canned fruits, with a soft carbonation. Full body. Peaches, some dried ones too. Citrus zest, pine cones, pepper and some grass in the flavor. Nice bitterness too. Long finish, with fruityness and a pleasant bitterness. Quite pleasant this one, although a bit sweetish. 160123

On tap at BrewDog Grünerløkka (BD57). Patchy surface. Next to clear dark golden body. Spotty lacing. Mid-tart fruity nose. Mixed taste of brown malts and fruity hops. Yeasty esters to a bitter ending. Medium bodied. Fair enough (Oslo, 11.12.2015).
