Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours cloudy amber with a large, strong beige froth head. Hefty, lightly toasted brown bread nose, hints of dark wheat, yeast, perhaps some leathery berries. Medium sweet flavor with understated alcohol punch, bits of jammy berries, some drying yeast, doughy brown bread, mellow burnt leaves. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Lightly warming to finish, some faint tangy fruits, touches of leather, toasted brown bread, mellow bitterness, hints of bubblegum, some background earth. Great stuff. I had a bottle of this about a month ago down at the brewery, and the beer didn’t really taste ’ready’; it was a bit undercarbonated and, as such, seemed a little boozy and overly sweet. Now, though, the beer seems to have developed a bit more and has the kind of lively carbonation I want in a saison, which does well to space out the alcohol and rich flavors at play. Great beer.

Bottle from Tomlinsons [280413]
Dark amber, very murky hazy, frothy white head
Aroma of spicy aromatic hops, typical saisony aroma, yeasty, soft sweet fruity malts , red erried, slight hint of cloves
Taste as aroma, slight soft tart, nice spicy notes, touch of lemon, some bitterish yeast esters, good flavour, very Belgian
Palate - Medium carb and body, spicy palate, quite sweet. Finish is a bit tart, bitter spicy linger
Ovraell - Very nice saison, probably the most Belgian tasting beer I’ve had brewed in the UK so far

Bottle from Sourced Market, St Pancras. Dirty brown red colour with a few off white bubbles on top. Cereally aroma. Some fruit on aroma. Red fruits. Reminds me of a Flemish Red to be honest. Aroma is a bit like an amber biere de garde. It really does remind me of something I know and can’t put my finger on. Yes, tasty and drinkable and certainly interesting and I find it difficult to think of this coming from Bermondsey rather than Flanders. Pretty good. Re-rate. almost a year later in fact 11 months later. The Flemish Red character has faded a bit. But more biscuity definitely so not sure if there was some brett in this. Somewhere between an amber biere de garde and a Flemish Red with brett. Dryer than before. Good interesting beer. Good beer.

Bottle split at the brewery, 30/03/13. Pours a hazed reddish amber with a decent sized off white head. Nose is malt, grass, spice, lemon rind, citrus notes, tarte apples. Taste comprises stewed apples with spice, grass, light funk, farmy ntoes, woody tones. Medium bodied with some carbonation but a little flat IMHO, dry finish. Decent enough but my least favourite of the 4 Partizan Saisons.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; murky brown pour with off white head, grassy yeast aroma, grassy taste with clove, pepper, drying a dusty hop, a bit of spice, very enjoyable possibly the best saison I’ve had.

Bottle at Partizan. It pours cloudy deep red-brown with a large white head. The nose is wood, earth, varnish, spice, dark fruit and light charcoal. The taste is earth, wood, spice, dark fruit, light jamminess, good level of bitterness, raisin and varnish with a dry, bitter finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Great depth of flavour. An interesting and well-crafted beer. Perhaps Partizan’s most accomplished beer to date.
