(Slushed) As "Refsvindinge Slush Ice Beer" Completely black and opaque with a small, off-white head. Distinct burned nose. Medium-bodied with marked, burned coffeeish accents and a distinct sweetness. No bitterness. Hard to take the slush thing seriously, but actually this beer is quite delicate. The brewer calls this a Double Chocolate Stout. 7/3/6/2/12=3 190506

(Bottle 33 cl) Voted Best New Beer 2003. Brewer John once told me that the label - drawn by his daughter - depicts the shape of his wife as she looked 20 years ago...
Completely pitch black, very small head and the typical Refsvindinge lack of carbonation. Rather burned malty character with a good bitterness. A fine quencher. 080804

Black with little bubbly white head. Aroma and taste is both roasted malts and coffee + chocolate. Medium carbonated. The texture is rather thin and doesnt have that creamy body which a good stout/porter has. Allround and OK!

50cl bottle, thanks to Mette for this one. Black with red edges and lasting thick beige head. Burnt malt aroma, slightly sour in mouth with more burnt powdery malt/choc/coffee on the finish. Quite a pleasant stout if it doesn’t hit the heights

33 cl bottle. Dark brown stout, with a little head. A good aroma of choklate and coffe. Average light stout. There are missing a lot of flavor after my taste.

Bottle 0,5 L. Excellent creamy white head. Fully lasting. Dark brown colour. Moderate malty aroma with burnt coffee. The burned aroma carries on in taste. Long finish, and soft carbonated. A nice beer.

Very dark brown. Cheap coffee and cheaper chocolate aroma, like a liquid Coffee Crisp. Straightforward palate is quite fudgey, with chocolate undertones. The finish is rather thin, allowing some nuttiness to show through. Lacks the roast and hop bitterness of a true stout, and the thinness belies any attempt to appreciate it as a porter. I have a soft spot for farmhouse breweries, so I really wanted to like it, but this just doesn’t make the grade.

Huge yellow-brown, creamy head, collapsing, slightly irregular; fully black beer. Pure chocolate nose, like opening a package of good chocolate. Moccha too. I seem to detect faraway hops too, and leaves. Bitter-sweet chocolate taste, bit of meat gravy, even with a slightly salty touch in the finish. Moccha flavour. Rather well bodied. Good stout, unfortunately ending a bit "fade". And I’m M.C.P. enough to like the label.

Bottle. Chocolaty aroma, coffee-ground notes as well. Dark red brown, big foamy brown head. Coffee notes, some fruit as well, not too pronounced though, tea-like aftertaste retronasal. a bit weak body.

Black beer with a nice light brown head. Roasted aroma with a hint of sweet licorice. Watery flavour with a disappointing lack of bitterness. I had expected more.
