Bamberg jolly day 2 25/01/2014. Bottle shared at Cafe Abseits grand tasting. Thanks to Ken. Clouded orange coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is sharp apple skin and hot fuessel alcohols. Flavour is tart apple, granny smith, nutmeg, solvent. Dryish palate. Spicy hop in the finish Disappointing.

Hazy dark amber color with small sized compact head. Aroma of fruits, some smell of puke and stale water; light talc. Sweetish flavor, some fruit (fruit jam), malt, not much of the promised Belgian character (self defined Belgian style); ordinary bitterness with some wood in the end and fairly strong alcohol impression.
Confused and not much interesting concoction.

750mL bottle pours with a clear amber to ruby red body that supports a two minute long tan head. The aroma is full and pulsing with brown sugar, prunes, figs, molasses covered graham crackers, cinnamon, a bit of ginger and chocolate followed by some booze. The taste is rich and sweet and fruity with sweet plum juice, brown sugar, figs and a honey covered ripe red apple slice note. Behind those notes are cinnamon covered ginger snap cookies and some chocolate followed by spicy yeast and booze that surface and help bring this to the finish. Nice brew.

Hazy amber-brown, bubbly head, some alcohol, yeasty taste, light phenols. The alcohol provides balance, but it’s reminding me of La Trappe Quad, but it is rough, not as refined as it needs to be.

Bottle. Hazy copper liquid with small to medium off-white head. Aroma of bread, sweet alcohol, raw sugar, toffee, raisins, caramel and nail polish. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of toffee, caramel, raw sugar and bread. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Ok.

Bamberg Bash Day 2. Cafe Abseits tasting. Clear amber beer, little bubbly pale tan head. Palate is light and dry. Little alcohol dryness. Sweetish malt with a little caramel and a little spice. Not getting much gooseberry at all. Spicy dry finish. It’s okay but not one of Bruery’s better efforts.

Aroma: The aroma is boozy up-front, with some deep fruity components, and toasted malts
Appearance: A reddish color with a slight purple hue and a small off-white head and drippy lace
Flavor: The flavor is plus sweet, with lots of fruity flavors and some nice boozy notes too
Palate: The body is medium-plus, with a fizzy carbonation, and some rather obvious heat
Overall Impression: I've found this series to be pretty interesting over the last couple of years. I think I would call it interesting more often than really good, but I actually liked this one quite a bit. Its a little too boozy and pretty sweet, so I can't really explain the generous score, but I just kind of enjoyed the combination here.
