Bottle, courtesy of Cunningham. A beer forming a huge, dense, off-white head leaving lacings. Quite clear body, dark amber in color. The aroma has a distinct scent of clothes softener, along with dried fruits and some alcohol and yeast. White sugar hints both in aroma and flavor. Some bitterness towards the end. The alcohol is well hidden, leaving little warmth too. Some bitterness in the finish. Well, in my book this is too perfumed. It’s not bad, just too perfumed. 131026

Bottled@PBF VIII. Slightly hazy pale copper colour with a mediumsized foamy head. Aroma is quite strong on the malts, but also has some quite sugary notes along with a slight touch of sour wood and spruce. Flavour is spruce, some slight sugary notes, mild tart wooden notes along with some sweet malts. Actually quite dry in the palate, but as such not very sour. Kind of faro-like in a way.

Aroma has toffee and caramel. Flavour has toffee and some sweet malty notes. Finishes with some alcohol and weak woody notes. Also some earthy notes and bretta. Not that sour.

750ml bottle @ PBF 2013
Pours dark orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of spices, caramely malts, some yeasty notes. Taste is a bit messy with notes of spices, malts, caramel, yeast and sweet syrup. Finish is sweet, syrupy and spicy with hints of tartness. A bit messy and unbalanced.

Bottled at PBF. Clear brownish amber, rich head. Fruity nose with faint funk. Mid sweet with rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Generic de Proefy frutyness, some pineapple funk as perfume. Mid bitter finish with some artificial sweetener.

750ml bottle shared at home. Amber pour with a good white head. Very perfumed aromas, with sugar and spice notes. not much funk present. Light sour, light bitter. Lively carbonation. Medium body. Once we poured the dregs of the bottle in the glasses it improved! yeastiness picked up, and turned into something like Orval.

Bottle shared at CBC Islington - London. Many thanks to Josh! Pours lightly hazy amber with a fine, beige foam head. Some light, tangy and leathery fruits in the nose, hints of bready malts, light dough and yeast. Ripe fruits in the flavor, moderate sweetness and restrained tang, grapes, brown bread, fine raisins. Light to medium bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish with modest brown bread, ripe fruits, light yeast. Not especially sour but very tasty.
