Blend of lambics aged on average 16 to 18 months and of Merlot grapes.
Lambic can be rightly considered the missing link between the worlds of wine and beer, and Saint Lamvinus takes this one step further by adding grapes normally intended for wine production.
Intense, fruity beer that lingers on the palate and has a clear connection to its winemaking origins.

Sharing beers with the wineworld. Petnat or beer? Young but powerful.

On tap @ Bar Cameral. Aroma is vinous, berry-like and acetic. Pours clear dark red color with thin quickly diminishing pinky head. Taste starts tart vinous, funky and ripe fruity, following is woody and earthy, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is very light bitter. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Awesome…

Fles gedeeld door Benzai. Mooi roze, licht troebel bier met mooie schuimkraag. Aroma is fruitig en zuur. Smaak van framboos en kers. Smaak is ook zuur. Fruitige smaak blijft even hangen. De zure smaak blijft langer in de mond.

Tap, LKBW. Dark ruby red, larger pinkish head, lasting. Vinous nose, medium tart feeling. Moderte sourness, vinous and tart. Tart aftertaste. Lighter body. A bit balsamic with slight burning feeling.

Pours dark red fading into purple, some haziness. Just a thin layer of quickly dissipating, large-bubbled head. A not especially vivid or complex aroma: quite strong sourness (mainly acetic, partly citric), mellowed by wet wood; notes of red grapes and (lighter) lemon. Possibly more acetic than actually meant, though not unbearably so. In the taste: acetic sourness still taking the main stage, but now more in check. There's a soft, semi-sweet base of wet wood and slight cardboard to mellow things out, followed by notes of red wine and lemon. Average or slightly above average per style sourness, mainly acetic, partly citric. Nice finish/aftertaste, with a clean, half-sweet reminiscence of grapes and lemon. I still think this is a bit more acetic than meant. The mouthfeel is where this beer gives it's best. Medium bodied with very light, super-delicate small-bubbled carbonation, resulting in a very nice smooth silky feel with just the right hint of prickliness. Not as complex or interesting as expected, and maybe a bit too acetic, but still a pleasant overall experience, thanks mainly to a nice mouthfeel and a nice long finish.

Pours darker amber, small white head. Scent is densly, loaded with red grapes. Intense. Taste is full, tart, intense grapes (still ! ) , bit herbal. Lovely ! very complex. Absolutely - yet unexpectingly - still in it's prime !
