Score
8.10
ABV: 6.5% IBU: - Ticks: 320
Blend of lambics aged on average 16 to 18 months and of Merlot grapes.
Lambic can be rightly considered the missing link between the worlds of wine and beer, and Saint Lamvinus takes this one step further by adding grapes normally intended for wine production.
Intense, fruity beer that lingers on the palate and has a clear connection to its winemaking origins.

Orange to amber. Massive funk, still some grape but more in a spicy way than fruity, mineral, sherry, walnuts. Quite sour. Lovely sparkly carbonation. Surprisingly great, the color shows the age but otherwise so vibrant and tasty! Love it.

18/IV/22 - 75cl bottle @ Cantillon Quintessence (Brussels), BB: n/a (2022-367)

A little cloudy orange to pale reddish beer, small creamy yellowish head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: oxidized, mouldy, some vanilla notes, musty. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, pretty dry, earthy, humus, a nice acidity, lemon juice, pretty bitter, very oxidized, acidic. Aftertaste: clean acidity, lots of lime and lemon juice, pretty bitter, dry, musty, fruity, lots of green apples, lovely but very oxidized as well. Oh well, still a pretty darn nice beer!

Bottle shared at destructo’s TOSPH. Reddish/pinkish pour with a white head. Funky nose. Grape, oak, and barnyard flavors. Very nice......

Sample from bottle at the brewery (2015 vintage), Brussels. Aroma is all about that barrel flavour. Taste is rather mellow and ending is very dry like a bordeaux red. Again, like other wine cantillons, this is an incredibly clever beer but wouldn't say it approaches their white grape beers. The ending is a little quiz in a burst of fizz. Lovely ofc but there are better.
