A tough one to place. Hop lovers will go for the Dank hoppy nose. The taste profile is obviously dominated by bitterness, including grapefruit, grapefruit rind, citrus and kiwi fruit. The hops build in the mouth over a three or four second timeframe. The astringent hops are bravely backstopped by caramel malts, nuttiness and a substantial, rich body. I’m in.

Bottled. A dark resiny orange. The nose is 1000 ibus but the rest of it just tastes like you’re sucking a 2x4. Mediocrity reigns. Not what I was expecting.

Pours a hazy amber colour with a big creamy light-beige head, very long lasting creating some sticky full lacing. Aromas of grassy hops, herbal notes and with the IPA background of caramel malt and dark fruits. The mouthfeel is dry, then you wait, wait... and it gets a notch up from normal really dry IPAs. Like sucking on a green leaf. Pretty much hops taking control of the flavours. Worth trying once, but not something to go-to as some other DIPAs.

BB 17/04/20 not so fresh anymore;Good old school aroma suggesting more at East Coast old school IPA than West Coast IPA;Prominent sweet malt

Taster on Black Christmas #7. Appearance: murky dirty copper. Aroma: oxidized, some dirt. Taste: along the same lines with some pit and medicinal notes. Overall: BAD.

Bottle. Pours a dark cloudy amber with an offwhite big frothy head. Aromas of pines and very grassy hops up front. Slightly caramel-ish. Taste is SO hoppy up front. Even more than I remembered. It’s pretty smashing. Lots of pine, some caramel and very much grass and some earth. I’d sure like this fresh at some point. This was about 4 months old, sadly.

Bottle at home. Maybe a touch old but still with a big kick. Bronze colour with fluffy golden head. Aroma is resinous hops, lots. Touch of carmel malt too but overwhelmed by the bitterness. Taste is nice. Maybe mellowed a touch. Nice malty body, initial big bitterness but after a few sips becomes more manageable. Bit of citrus, grassy too. Big bitterness lurking. Pretty nicel, one is enough. Good though. --- Beer merged from original tick of 1000 IBU on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 9 | Flavor - 9 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8. Bottle from BrewDog Leicester. Light brown with a thin white head. Scent of pine needles, caramel, little bit of sarsaparilla. Tastes sweet at first with inense flavour but not so much bitterness until the finish. Long finish, full oily body. Very tasty.

Corked bottle. Dark brown color, cloudy. Huge hoparoma. You can smell this beer from a distance. Herbal, grassy and leavy. Huge grassy, oily hopbitter flavor with lots of grapefruit. Very long aftertaste but quite drinkable. I enjoyed it in fact.
