It fights like a bulldog on your palate - Brutal Bulldog Double IPA is an intense acquaintance. Dry hopped twice and with an alcoholic strength of 8.4%, it offers a taste experience beyond the ordinary. The two unique hop varieties Galaxy from Australia and Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand gives a fruity aroma reminiscent of tropical fruit.

Bottle. A hazy dark reddish amber beer topped by a dense, minimal sized light beige head. Rather caramel malty aroma with some vegetables and white sugar. Quite fruity and there’s also some piney notes. Full body, soft carbonation and with a little warmth. Doughy, sweetish malts in the back, with pine cones, resins and citrus peel up front. Nice bitterness. Lasting finish. Nothing impressive going on here, too doughy and malty. 150807

Pours hazy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, citrus, orange and bread. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long warm, malty, caramel, bready and citrus finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Fra flaske på sesongens siste M2, Cardinal juni-15: Oransjegylden med kort skum. Appelsinmarmelade og citrus + litt maltsødme i aroma og smak. Tydelig men allikevel behagelig humlet, velbalansert. Til en DIPA å være er den meget lett å helle innpå.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 15.06.15. Clear orange. Diminishing off-white head. Aroma of medium roasted malt, dark caramlel, brittle, Sevilla oranges and pine shoots. Similar taste. Round mouthfeel.

Bottle at home. Pours a clear, orange-amber color with a beige, creamy head. Aroma of caramel, pine, leather, flowers, tropical fruit and dried apricot. The flavor has more grassy hops, pine, grapefruit and caramel in the background. A little dry. Full bodied, and has a slick mouth feel. Powerful bitterness that lingers. A DIPA with a fruity aroma and hoppy flavor. The bitterness is on the edge of being unbalanced.

Bottle @ Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours reddish amber with some off-white head. Aroma of dark dried fruits, pine needles, caramel, some citrus, some bread. Quite sweet, followed by a string but balancing bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, some alcohol warmth.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.4%. Deep orange colour, moderate to low off-white head. Fairly strong aroma of sweetish malts and citrussy hops, hints of orange marmalade and pine. The flavour is well hopped throughout, but could still be called "well balanced", it is not extreme for a double IPA. The malty base is sufficient, but not too sweet. Very drinkable.

330 ml bottle. Clear dark golden body with an off-white head. Aroma has malt, citric fruit, hint of caramel, ripe fruit and some tropical fruit. Flavor is sweet malt, citric fruit, tropical fruit and quite bitter. It also has some pronounced alcohol without being boozy. Nice body and fruity bitter aftertaste. Pretty good IPA with a balanced malt profile.
