This brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a gen-erous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoni-ously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour. The body is decidedly malty. The bitterness is the result of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts used. These give St-Feuillien Brune a typical dark chocolate appearance. This beer creates an endless variety of sensations with a lingering taste and powerful aroma.

Bottle. M&S. Deep, ruby red. Mostly clear. Lovely, dense, thick, lasting, pale beige head. Nose has brown sugar. Vine fruit. Granary bread. Some caramel. Taste has a sugary sweetness, but is mostly vinous and dry. Medium body. Foamy carbonation. Dry and slightly vinous on the close. Big bang for the buck.

Smell - weak, cant get anything out of it. Foam - carbonated hit to tongue, bit watery, quite thin, keeps at level,maybe some weak, weak bitterness notes to tongue. Taste - medium carbonation, lasting carbon bitterness for tongue, little alcohol sweetness, generally little bitter, little sweet, not bad, quite easy drinking.

Flaska från belgiuminabox som stått två år. Mahognybrun, klar, högt ljusbeiget skum som håller länge. Söta dofter och smaker av kandisocker, karamell, mörk sirap och bröd med en hel del brödkryddor i, aningen trä, fruktkaka. Men kryddigheten bär också en hel del beska som behövs för balansen. Stora, ganska djupa och komplexa smaker i en bra klassisk dubbel. Gott.
