Draught @ Albion. Opaque dark brown with small beige foamy head, faint coffee aroma, adequate carbonation, mildly bitter coffee taste, with coconut flavor, thin body, longish finish with coconut aftertaste. Coconut is quite dominant, but not bad.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Andover Liquors. Appearance is hazy dark brown with mahogany, dark particulates, decent sparkle, finger-width light brown foamy head with fair retention and trace leggy lacing. Aroma is strong coconut, mild almond, roasted chocolatey malts. Taste is as aroma. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, slick texture, average-to-lively carbonation and mostly sweet finish as taste with late bitter. Overall, the coconut dominates both the base porter and the almond. That's not a bad thing but makes it less complex.

12 oz can bought in Boston, MA. Clear dark mahogany pour with a tan head and good retention. Minimal lacing. Dark molasses and almond flavor. I'm not picking up much coconut flavor. A little thin for a porter. 6.0 ABV is well hidden.

Keg at the brewery. Clear dark brown, large creamy tan head, good retention. Smells like an Almond Joy. A bit of roast. Taste is coconut, roast. Medium bodied, smooth.

Can, undated, drunk 3/17/16.
Initial tan head fizzles out to a small ring atop a dark amber hued dark mahogany. High clarity.
Almond meal and coconut in the nose are flecked with dark chocolate, hints of vanilla and coffee. Sort of straddles the line between porter and brown ale. I guess it’s that stupid thing some people call a "brown porter". Whatever the case, it’s fairly aromatic, with absolutely nothing overdone or fake. No alcohol, no flaws.
Nutty, almond meal and very light flaked coconut in the flavor are kind of amazing. I don’t love coconut or even nutty flavors in my beer and I hate brown ales, but this has a low but ample carbonation, very mild bitterness, just enough malty sweetness and a drinkable, watery texture. I wouldn’t drink these things all day, that’s for sure, but it’s very well-executed for what it’s trying to do. Roastiness does build up on the palate and the beer comes off fairly robust as it goes on. Nice! Surprising treat from Baxter.
