Bottle. Pours brown with a creamy head. Sweet and spicy aroma. The taste is sweet in a berry kind of way, with some salkmiak notes in the aftertaste.

Opague black colour, no light shining through. Smells a lot like ginger, ’kroepoek’, chinese food. Tastes roasty, ginger, coffee and kasparus beers. Good mouthfeel though.

Color pitch black, opaque. Vast beige head. Smell ginger, Chinese food. Taste roastyness and again ginger. Carbo and body full but ok for this beer.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, mahogany colour with a big and beige foamy head. Slightly sugary and roasted malty aroma with notes of anise, leather and a fruity touch of dried berries and raisins. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Moderately roasted malty taste with notes of caramel, an earthy touch, fruity accents of cherries and ume-boshi; sweet and moderately roasted malty finish with mildly spicy notes and fruit punch. Nice brew for the winter months. 24.VI.11

33 bottle @ home. Almost black color, beige head. Aroma is full of (sweet) spices: laurel/bay leaves, aniseed, licorice, plus some red fruit and (roasted) malt. Flavor is fairly sweet, mouthfeel somewhat syruppy. Alcohol warms the throat, but still it doesn’t feel very strong. Finishes with more spices and a light bitterness. Drinking this in the middle of Summer, but I think this would be a nice winterbeer/christmas, but hey, the weather is shite anyway.

Dark opaque brown color, small steady beige head. Anise and clove in the aroma. Full-bodied. Licorice, caramel, anise, clove in the flavor. Licorice, herbal aftertaste. Interesting, but not my cup of tea.

Bottle at Doerak, Delft. Chocolate and coffee in flavor but overpowered with a mint taste. Good, but something seemed a little wrong
