Handcrafted at the tiny All Saints Brewery set in a time warp in Stamford using the old manually operated brewing equipment. Finest organically grown barley and wheat are used to create a complex ale which, having undergone primary and secondary fermentation with different yeasts and extended maturation, is taken to Samuel Smith’s small, independent British brewery at Tadcaster. There it is blended with pure organic cherry, strawberry, raspberry or apricot fruit juices and more organic beer to create fruit beers of considerable strength and flavour. The smooth distinctive character of the matured beer serves as the perfect counterpoint to the pure organic fruit juice.

A burgundy red ale with a thin pinkish head. In aroma, raspberry candy drops, a bit like fruit flavoured Halls or Certs, some raspberry jam, not bad. In mouth, a sweet raspberry juice with light malted notes, a tad too much on the alcopop side, but nice in the summer. LCBO bottle.

Bottle @ Odense Tasting, June 2011. Pours deep blood red with a pink head. Sweet and sticky raspberries. It has a pleasant light natural tart bite. Though sweet - it’s fresh and drinkable. Smooth.

33cl bottle. Pours an almost opaque cherry red with a very generous head which is pink and lacey. The nose has raspberries and strangely cherries. The taste has creamy raspeberries. The palate is medium bodied with a creamy texture but not refreshing enough on the end - it lacks the acidity of a Belgian fruit beer. Overall, pretty good but a bit sickening after a while.

355 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 5.1%. Deep red colour, large pink head. Strong aroma of ripe raspberries and raspberry jam. The sweet and sour flavour has loads of raspberry extract / concentrate throughout, slightly astringent finish, with a hint of hops. Certainly not my everyday beer, but drinkable on a day you’re in for "something completely different".

Refrigerated bottle poured into a white wine glass. Aroma is raspberry, medium carbonation, and some lacing. Pours deep opaque ruby red with lighter more translucent red highlights with medium light pink head. Taste is raspberry. I thought it would be better.

500ml bottle split with Ann. Deep brownish cherry-red. Thin, oily head. Sweet raspberry juice tones which really dominate every facet of the beer. Relatively mellow carbonation, light to medium body. An enjoyable beverage, but not many beer characteristics. Very pleasant, but not so impressive.
