Beach Plum Gose

Notes from 12/30/16 On tap @ Cardiff Giant. Served in a short stange glass. Cloudy, orange body. Lingering, lacy head. Smell is soft coriander, dough, lemon, berry, and peppery yeast. Taste is very doughy and only mildly salty, & it's perfectly enough. A sour-ish fruity note is there, but I cannot say it is obviously beach plum. Just a generic sour plum/peach skin flavor, turning a little grapey. Lemon twang & a toasty finish follows through to the end. Unfiltered, potent yeast. Appreciative of the light hand taken to the style. Easy, yet a little too textured for me.

Hazy golden coloured body with a very fast-dying, not even a single centimetre tall pure white head, but a nice hit of haze and glow to a nice peach coloured tint. Aroma of peaches, plums, grass, light salt, a dose of wheat and some softer yeast notes with a hint of coriander seed freshness and some mild grapes. Light-bodied; Strong peach and plum fruity flavours dominate with a dose of apples and pears along with some sweetness from candy and caster sugar and a little bit of soured, tart berries towards the end. Aftertaste shows the grassy and dry flavours at first with a dose of the very fresh wheat and coriander seed notes along with a nice hit from the plum and peach sweetness and ending with a soft, but briney finish from the salt. Overall, a very nice, incredibly fresh and easy-drinking beer that hits the fruity and wheat/coriander seed notes nicely, but perhaps misses the marks in complexity, but that is to be expected with the style. Nice to sample, but not a gose that must be purchased! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 24-February-2018 for US$3,00 sampled at home in Washington on 17-March-2020 - Saint Patrick's Day, one of the hottest days of the year so far here in Washington.

Sampled from a can this beer poured a hazy golden color with a large fluffy white head that lingered. The aroma was yeasty and a touch phenolic with a vague berry note. the flavor was tart and sour with vague berry and yeast. Medium length finish. Medium body

16oz can. Light haze. A light spoiled fruit aroma with a light brine. Flavor has a light tartness. Slightly sparkling carbonation. A little drying. It's well done actually or not annoying.

Pounder: Dandelion, meyer lemon, strawberry aroma. Hazy orange, medium head, little retention. Tart plum and strawberry. Biscuit at midpalate. Yogurt finish. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Refrigerated 16 oz. aluminum can pouredinto a weizen glass. Hazy light orange with small-white head. Aroma is sour plum, medium/light body, lower carbonation, and some lacing. Taste is tart plum and salt.

Can. Pours hazy orange with small frothy whitish head, salty citrus aroma, medium carbonation, salty sour taste with little bitterness, thin body, medium sour finish. Quite balanced and refreshing.
