Fire Island is known for being easy going with a lot of character, so Fire Island Lighthouse Ale has been crafted the exact same way. A soft carbonation and light caramel finish make Fire Island Lighthouse Ale easy to drink, yet it has the toasty round body of a classic American Ale to give it real substance. It’s a beer for all seasons, all foods, and all friends. Or as we like to say, the kind of beer you want to have a beer with.

Bottle (from notes). Pours rich yellow with small foamy white head, grassy hops aroma, medium carbonation, lightly bitter malty taste, thin body, medium finish. Easy to drink, but nothing special.

Bottle @ JFK, NYC. Medium head with medium duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are crisp clean malt and hops. A little on boring side, but very easy drinkable.

Bottle. Beer of the month club. Clear copper-amber color with a short-lasting small white head. Aroma of cookie-ish and caramelly malt, a hint of toast and some floral hops. Sweetish malty flavor with caramel, toasty notes, light fruitiness and a moderately bitter hoppy finish. Medium-bodied. Kinda boring but quite balanced and drinkable.

Location: Sampled at the NY Brewfest on Governor's Island, 6/19/10

Overall Impression: My second Fire Island beer of the brewfest (I also had a Red Wagon IPA, but I had rated that one prior to the event). Anyway, there isn't much to say about this one, other then it is a very OK beer.

Copper in color with a thin head. Malty aroma that’s sweet and not too hoppy. Not much flavor but very malty with some hops lurking in its depths. Drinkable but probably won’t order again.

Pretty run-of-the-mill American pale ale. Pours a light, clear yellow. Nose of grass and some bread. Flavor is mildly sweet with notes of honey. Not very complex. Easy to drink and pretty smooth.
