The aroma is dominated by peaty smoke. Texture is rich and silky. Generally smokey and bitter. There’s some caramelised malts too. Hops come through in the finish but are quickly replaced by a heavy smokey lingering aftertaste.

Bottle in the brewery during the RBESG 2013 weekend. Poured a deep mahogany with a bubbly tan head. The aroma is hugely smokey and nothing else! The flavour is medium to strong bitter with loads of smoke, liqourice and roasted malt on the slightly watery palate. One of the very best smoked porters I’ve had.

22.10.2013, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Nice slightly brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is leather, peat, dark malts, grass, licorice, dark sugar, caramel, hops. Taste is slightly dry and harsh, peat, leather, dark malts, hay, grass, coffee, hops, licorice, cardboard. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Fair enough, this is more a peated porter than a smoked porter.

33 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 29.04.2011
Aroma is smoky with leather and some tar – actually really close to new leather shoes. Flavour is rather strong on smoke. Also some woody and leathery notes with tar. A bit too thin, but nice anyway.
