One of our favourite styles - American Brown Ale! Medium bodied with a solid backbone of malt richness. This is balanced with toasty and nutty textures from the roast chestnuts and finished with lashings of hops.

10/1/2022. Can sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers. Pours clear mid-amber/brown with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is malty, nutty, toffee, brown bread, musty chestnut. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, average carbonation. It's okay.

Bottle. A clear brown beer with a small beige head. Some lacing. The aroma is quite oxidized, with toffee, dark berries and nuts. Slightly metallic. It’s dry and medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Toffee, nuts, some dried fruits and a distinct oxidation in the flavor. Rather metallic in the finish. Not my kind of brown ale. 170318

33cl bottle from Beer52.com. A dark chestnut pour with a thin beige head; earthy malt aroma; dry, earthy malt taste with a touch of spice; and then a warming finish with traces of molasses. I’m not a fan of this style, but this was pretty good.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.0%. Fairly dark reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, vanilla, marshmallows, roast chestnuts and malts. The flavour has a moderate sweetness, and is fairly rich for its moderate ABV, with the same elements as in the aroma. Moderate hops in the finish - I kind of expected them more pronounced in a beer called an "American Brown Ale", but I am not complaining. This is a very drinkable beer as it is.
