Limited mixed pack in Vermont for Easter 2018. Pours a clean, deeper amber colour with a beige cap, good stay and lacing. Aromas of an Irish ale with the caramel and fruitiness. Some light grassiness does come out eventually. Flavours are where the IPA shows its hops with a nice bitter dryness in the end. A nice blend of an Irish Red smelling brew, but with the mouth bite of an IPA.

Tap at Draught 55. Deep coppery reddish pour. Nose is malty and some red fruits. Tastes of spicy rye, cherry, malty, caramel, some toast. Sweet and bitter and spice.

Clear rusty amber color with a thick khaki head and great retention. Good lacing. Hoppy nose. Less bitter than an IPA, but less caramel malt flavor than an Irish red too. An okay blend. A semi-toasty pale ale? The 7.0 ABV is well hidden.

[2/2/17] Draught at Harpoon Brewery in Boston. Clear amber. Malt, piney hops, a bit of diacetyl, sweetish, bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours clear amber-red with large foamy beige head, faint cereal aroma, lightly bitter sweet caramel taste, thin body, medium bitter finish. It’s more of an Irish ale than an IPA to me.

Filtered, orange red. Smells like a cram berry marmalade and tootsie roll. Hmmm. This is good. Has a very malty tootsies roll and chocolate flavor. Sweet cherry, cranberry and woot. It’s pretty good.

Pours deep mahogany into a shaker. Tan head quickly recedes to nothing. Dark rye aromas. Medium bodied with caramel and malt upfront turning to pumpernickel and clove in the lasting finish.
