A deep dark porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a bitter chocolate, herbaceous, light licorice. In mouth, a sweet chocolate with light creamy notes, torrefied malts, smooth. Bottle at Hivernale, Gatineau, Jan. 20 2012.

Pours a perfect ruby-brown-black with a huge dark beige head on top. Aroma is saddle leather, smoked barley, cowboy stirrups. Flavour is spicy coffee with some chocolate hints, and sadly a somewhat weak mouthfeel. It’s a good porter, but not a great one.

Bouteille 500ml.

Bottle: Poured a dark black color porter with a large enough dirty brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of lightly sweet malt with notes of light roasted malt. Taste is also a weird mix between some sweet malt with grainy notes and some light dry coffee notes. Body is too thin for my liking with good carbonation. There is something in this brewery malt or yeast profile that doesn’t do it for me.
