Microbrasserie Pit Caribou in Percé, Quebec, Canada 🇨🇦

  Porter Regular
Score
7.10
ABV: 6.2% IBU: 21 Ticks: 44

On nitro tap at Pit Caribou, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lactose, light roast and a tiny hint of earthy coffee. Flavour is creamy, with light roast and lactose. Not a whole lot of depth in the body, but it's decent.

Draught at BXL Beer Fest.
Black body, with a medium, creamy, dark beige head.
Aroma of coffee, cocoa powder, soy sauce, dark chocolate.
Tastes pretty similar.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a low carbonation.
Finishes dry, roasty, but smooth, with coffee, dark chocolate, soy sauce, some tobacco, cocoa powder.

Tasty. Really lovely combination of coffe, chocolate and roasty malts. Drinks robust, but also pretty smooth. Great, characterful style example.

Poured from the tap. Near black with tan head. Roast malt, quite bitter chocolate offset against a mild sweet caramel malt. The flavours play against each other in an interestingly unique way. Medium body. --- Beer merged from original tick of Gaspésienne No. 13 on 10 May 2024 at 03:51 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5. Bottle picked up from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, nr Gent, Belgium, consumed at Lighthouse Keepers Cottages, Lynton, Devon Friday 1st December 2017 shared with Baz Pours dark brown with a slim light beige head. The aroma has a very slight chemical tinge, surprising really as it is a very good beer, very nice indeed. Soft, a little creamy, milk chocolate, smooth, really easy drinking, it's great. @ BXLfest 2017.
