Draught. Faintly cloudy dark orange with very small frothy off-white head, faint citrus arima, low carbonation, lightly bitter malty taste, thin body, medium finish. Nothing exciting.

Tap into a moderately filtered caramel brown with sparse foam. The nose shows tea and biscuits; very similar to an English style Pale Ale. The palate is medium bodied and well carbonated to the point of foamy. Flavors of nutty peanuts and light biscuit with a slightly overpowering strong bitterness on the finish.

Draught at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Newark, NJ
Cloudy golden color; compact head. Not much aroma, just a bit of malt. The malt flavor is light but decent; the hopping is strong enough, it carries a bit of resins, a hint of orange peel and chamomile, and a pungent touch.
Easy, clean, nice.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours medium amber with a frothy/fizzy off-white head. Aroma is sort of earthy/floral with underlying caramel. Med body. Starts earthy, gets some malt after the carbonation lifts off. No question it’s bitter. Unusually earthy to me. We’re talkin mushroom, not funk.

Location: Draft at the Hoboken Turtle Club, 12/18/10

Aroma: The nose is mostly grainy with a little caramel malt as well
Appearance: Pours a fairly clear copper color with a small off-white head
Flavor: The taste is mostly malty, some grainy sweetness, light citrus hop presence
Palate: The body of this one is fairly light, a touch on the metallic side, average carbonation
Overall Impression: This was my first taste of something from the New Jersey Beer Company even though its just a few miles down the road from me. Anyway, I wasn't particularly impressed, this was basically just a boring pale ale. I'll give them another shot, but I hope their other offerings are a little more inspired.

Growler. Clear, amber-red-gold pour with a mild, white head. Classic pale malt aroma with some honey and caramel. Sweet flavor with strong bread, honey and caramel notes, along with some citrus hops towards the end. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Finishes sweet, slightly juicy, with maybe hints of maple. Pretty good.
