Our IPA is created from a base of Pale and Crystal malts and is aggressively hopped throughout the brewing process with a final hop addition in the conditioning vessel. A beautiful flowery hop aroma will greet you as you dive into this hop lover’s dream. A middle caramel malt presence balances high hop bitterness with hop flavor end to end... learn to love hops! (Editor’s Note: originally brewed by Humboldt Brewing Company under the name "Humboldt IPA Nectar" until their acquisition by Firestone Walker.)

Pour is a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is hops and a sweet roasty malt. Flavor is hops up front with a sweet malt at the end. After the swallow i get some of the caramel. Decent IPA

Pours gold into a Sam glass. White head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing to skim surface. Toasted resin aromas. Crisp with sweet caramel and grass upfront turning to a lasting resin finish.

Key Foods, Flatbush Ave six-pack ($13) Pours a nice color with a proper looking white head. Basically, the most west coast a west coast IPA gets. Resiny hops all over the place, sufficiently bitter and plenty of citrusy fruits. Balanced perfectly well and has enough flavor to compete with the best of them. My only gripe with this is that they charge $13-$14 for a six-pack of this when all other Firestone Walker beers are a lot cheaper (especially at Trader Joe’s).

12 oz. bottle, pours golden with a medium white head. Aroma of citrus hops and grapefruit. Flavour is fairly standard hops, with nothing really to distinguish it. Solid, but forgettable.

Bottle. Poured amber with thin fast dissipating white head. Full floral and citrus aroma. Full flavoured a lot of balanced hop without being a hop bomb. Lasting grapefruit finish. Good on a muggy day.

Orange with a white head. Very heavy citrus aroma with some deep sweet malts, too. Flavor is of strong hops, citrus, bright fruit, light floral, and sweet caramel malts. A real solid west-coast IPA.

Bottle. Beautiful IPA on all fronts. Pours a light orange with a fluffy white head. The aroma lunges from several feet away. Huge floral and citrus hop nose. Flavor is rich and bitter, with some fruity sweetness. Medium carbonation, resiny, with a bitter and slightly sticky finish. Superb.

Tap at California Brewers Festival. Poured light amber with a nice off-white head. Nice resin aroma. Really pine. Excellent IPA.

Aroma of flower hop, with some citrus. Amber color with beige head. Starts with a flowery taste, backed up by some citrus hop, and malt sweetly lurking in the background. This is really what an ale should be. The finish has those flowery notes, and the bitterness is just appropriate. As Skinners Horse - still good.
