Granted, it was damn ’ difficult, but our customers asked for such a beer, we are actually quite proud of the fact that we succeeded. What we have succeeded with is to produce a beer that is not already from the first sip an attack on your tastebuds with a screeching hop bitterness and oceans of alcohol. Bryggen’s Blonde is probably best described as a beer with a gentle appearance that appeals to the thoughtful segment, rather than the tanned, hardened beer enthusiasts. In the glass it appears a warm golden beer both creamy and delicious. The scent is rich in floral tones and a slight hint of yeast reveals the Belgian inspiration.
With Bryggens Blond we would like to thank those of our customers who reminded us that a good beer does not always have to be a wild and violent experience.

Flaske 0,5 l fra bestillingsutvalget til Systembolaget. Uklar. Lys gylden på farge. Lavt og luftig skum. Sterkt krydret aroma. Smaken er avrundet: Syrlig frukt. Ingen spesiell ettersmak. Bye bunnfall som ligger igjen i flaska. Litt uvariert - men god. KI=0

Bottom of bottle contains "The Blob" ; beer itself is only veiled orange-amber; small white head. Wild greenery, garden weeds or nettles, arachideoil. More arachide in the flavour, beer is riddled with fatty acids and other autolysis products. Small wonder with the dung-hill of dead yeast down below. Retronasal flavour of rotting grass and caramel. Medium bodied, very well-carbonated. I honestly expected better from Amager; this is poor show.

Bottle, from trade with Papsoe. It’s a hazy, slightly pale golden beer with some microfloaties and a white head. Some sourish notes on the nose, with fruits and lemon, hops and a little chalky touch. Fruity and malty-sweet with some grains, and piney hops giving a fine bitterness. Full-bodied. Long, piney, bitter finish. I suspect there’s something wrong with the bottle, as there were some sourish and chalky notes in the aroma. At least it wasn’t past BB-date. A very refreshing beer, not a big one, but a fine thirst quencher. Original review text: Bottle, #35. It pours a hazy orange-yellow body with a nice white head leaving some pretty lacings. Grainy, malty nose with a nice fruityness, some spices and hints of yeast. Floral in a way, must be the hops. In the mouth, it’s quite effervescent, medium full, and with flavors of grains and fruityness. Orange and lime, pale malt, some hoppy bitterness, noble hops (?) and a spicy hint. Fruity and bitter in the finish. A beer that goes down easy, is quaffable and quenching, and considering the brewery, surprisingly weak in all aspects. (081025)

100ml at EBF 08, Copenhagen. Golden with a slight haze. Some patchwork at the top. Moderate, succulent fruits in aroma and taste – floral and lemony hints. Dry bitter in the ending. Alright for the style (12.09.2008).

Bottled@Home (Bought in Olkonsortiet, Aalborg). Honeyish golden colour, big creamy white head. Aroma is strong honey, hops, nectar and some mild grassyness lurking in the background. Flavour is grassy, honeyish and nectarish in a very pleasant mix. Strong sweetish wooden notes in the finish. Nice golden ale. --- Beer merged from original tick of Bryggens Blond (2007) on 21 Apr 2008 at 02:54 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Original review text: Bottled. Hazy orange colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is fruits, spices, yeast and herbs. Also quite nectary notes. Flavour is quite sour fruits, some wheat, herbs, mild spicing and quite yeasty. Also some slight toffeeishness as it warms up.

One of the less interesting brews from the brewery!
