From a 50 ml bottle shared at home. Pours a clear dark cola with a tan head. Aroma of coffee and dark fruits. Flavors of caramel, licorice and plums. Lingering roasty finish.

Last beer of my Copenhagen beer odyssey shared with Desverger. Black pour with a light tan head.Aromas of dark chocolate, licorice toffee and dark roast coffee. Flavours of port, coffee and treacle toffee. Quite a vinous number. Nice.

Draught @ Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy light tan head. Dark aroma of malt, caramel, coffee and fruit. Sweet flavour of malt, roasted coffee beans, caramel and liquorice. Fruity hints. Roasty and sweetish aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. Good stuff.

Aroma: sweet with slight sour notes. Flavor: roasted coffee with grape like bitterness and a hint of vanilla. Creamy mouthfeel. Color: very dark brown with a light brown head.

Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsdalen. Batch 588. Svart. Høyt brunt skum som varer. Kniplingslacing. God aroma av røstet malt. Oljeaktig konsistens. Smaken er salt lakris & røstet malt. Svakt syrlig bitter ettersmak.

On tap. Pours black with moderate tan head that settled quickly. Soft Aromas of milk chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee. Initial flavors of fruit then sweet chocolate followed by bitter dark chocolate. Very tasty.

Draft sample @ Birra Expo’14 Piacenza. Brune foncée, col épais et crmeux café au lait. Arôme est malté, épais au niveau olfactif avec une épaisseur de chocolat prononcé, pointe de réglisse et liquoreux, chocolat noir en rétro. Palais est ici aussi accentué sur les malts avec pas mal de chocolat qui rajoute à la profondeur du palais. Ponctué par une note de réglisse et au final une bière que je trouve trop épaisse à boire. Collant aux lèvres avec une fin un peu ’off’ sur un côté lactique.

Bottle from Brouwerij Lane. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose/taste of licorice root, roast chocolate malt, roast wheat malt, coffee, dank grapefruit peel and milk chocolate. Full bodied.
