Like you, we love hops too. Released each August, Panzer Pils is a stronger, more robust version of a traditional German Style Pilsner brewed with Tettnang and Saaz hops.

cloudy orange, strange looking (milk skinned) smooth offwhite head. gentle flowery hops dominate. peach. flowers.yeast. nice. flavor is pretty bitter, faint flowers, hoppy, sweet from malts, strong. ends bitter from alc and bitter hops. reminds me of a bitterhoppy imperial ipa or double ipa, benearth the bitterhoppy grapefruitpeel bitterness i find an intersting peachy orangy flowery sweetness the two doesn’t match in total harmony with the powerfull bitterness, but you stop and examine it a bit.

Bottle: Poured a hazy golden color lager with a small foamy head with minimal retention and some light lacing. Aroma of dry European hops with some grainy malt notes. Taste is a mix between some some dry European hops with subtle floral notes and light astringency. Malt is dominated by grainy notes and doesn’t really fits well with the beer. Body is full with limited filtration and carbonation is too low for style. Not my favorite style but I still think the malt and hops were not in perfect agreement and carbonation was too low for the style.

22 oz bottle purchased mail order from South Bay in Imperial Beach, California. Pour is hazed yellow with a one inch white head. Some lacing etched on the glass as the head and beer fall. Aroma of grassy hops, soft minty maltiness, and some alcohol . Taste is dirty chemical sweetness (others said DMS) and the mintiness from the nose. Hops come through clean - very drying. Palate is medium to thin, medium carbonation level and a very dry finish. Nice enough, I liked the hops, though the menthol was a bit much for me. As always, thanks for doing mail order Geoi.

Pours bright gold into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Sweet caramel malt aromas. Thick with upfront caramel and resin. Lasting grapefruit and alcohol finish.

courtesy of tpd975. Shared at a pool right by the Gulf of Mexico. Cheers to that! Pours dark brown, thin white head. Aroma roasted malts, plenty of good grain/cereal, dough in the nose. Flavor, plenty of malts and grains, sweet palate. Hops remained subtle. That’s the way I picture a real EU strong lager. Rest of the notes are lost somewhere in the pool.

No one should ever make an imperial pilsner. Anyway. Light orange color and cloudy. Loads of hops, some saaz I think, which I really love. Much more like a pale ale than a pilsner, but the strong euro lager category works well also.
