Escaping from winter’s darkness, this hazy golden, unfiltered Kölsch style creates a fresh start. Our take on the classic hybrid style from Cologne, Germany, combines the subtle fruit notes of an ale with the smooth crispness of a lager for a bright, refreshing brew to help escape those lingering cold days.

bottle - Pours yellow-gold with a two finger white head. It has a mild aroma with grain and citrus. The flavor is mild and sweet with malt grain, fruit esters, and a mild bitterness. Light bodied. Okay.

Pale yellow. nose has lemon, pine, crisp wheat and a good yeast presence. Good german taste, some faded european hops, crisp body, maybe a little stale tasting for a kolsch. lacks brightness you’d expect.

Pours a golden amber from a bottle with a white head with small bubbles. Not goin to comment on aroma or flavor much, this beer is almost more about what it isn’t. Final result is an easily drinkable beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Naama’s place. Thanks Tom L. Slightly hazy golden. Grainy aroma with light fruitiness and faint hops. Sweetish malty and grainy flavor with a fruity note and a bitterish finish. Quite light-bodied.

Draft. From notes. Light biscuit and earthy notes. A hint of light hops. Not bad, but nothing that good here either.

Hazy golden coloured body with a thin one centimetre tall white head. Aroma of pale malt, light fruit and hints of very light herbal hops. Light-bodied; Nice fresh apricot and peach flavours at first with a very mild earthy malt note, some light grassy and herbal flavours, all finishing with a light yet noticeable yeast and honey sweetness. Aftertaste is robust and complex with some good flavours and a nice depth. Overall, a surprisingly nice and refreshing beer with a good profile and a solid complexity for the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church, Virginia on 13-February-2014 for US$1,83 sampled at home in Washington on 07-July-2014.

Bottle. Clear light gold body with white head. Aroma of bread and light notes of raw grain, pear, grass, fruity esters, floral hops. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not as clean as a classic kolsch, but easy drinking.
