Oily black colour, very thick dark brown foam. Very complex beer, very well balanced. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee. Also bourbon, but not overwhelming. Again a very good RIS from Emelisse.

Black with small dark brown head. Espresso, berries, leather, vanilla, wood. Later more boozy and chocolate. Thick and sweet, but with a tart truity touch and a burnt-bitter finish. Medium to thick mouth, this is really for sipping. Slightly syrupy. Light carbonation. Very good.

Bottle courtesy of my father. Pours blackish dark brown with a rather big creamy mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving a thick lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, oatmeal cookies, caramel, bourbon, vanilla fudge, high quality dark chocolate, brown sugar sweetened dark roast coffee, mineral rich soil, alcohol, burnt cereal and charred wood. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, charred wood, roasted nuts, bourbon, vanilla fudge, mineral rich soil, alcohol, sweet liquorice candy and burnt cookies. Mouthfeel is round, soft, boozy and near full bodied. finish is bitter with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee, charred wood, vanilla fudge and bourbon. Very good version, bourbon really comes through and adds to the beer.
