Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2016, Great [ British Beer Festival 2016 ], London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Beowulf Folded Cross ].Clear medium amber colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration, nutty, caramel, toffee. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20160809] 6-3-6-3-12

Cask, half-pint, shared with Finn at Cornubia. Spotty lacing from a diminishing off-white head. Cloudy red-brown body. Smell of toffee and bread. Slightly jam-like taste profile. Malt-fruity drying finish. Fair enough. (Bristol 29.04.2017).

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Clear amber beer, thin pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has modest fine carbonation. Sweetish malts, floral caramel. Modest dried fruits. Light dry finish. Hangs together well enough.

Cask-conditioned at the Plough, Worcester 16/9/2016. Copper in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Hedgerow and orange fruits, leafy hops, sweet malts, leading to a decent, bitter, finish. A pleasant bitter.

Sampled @ GBBF day 1. Clear rusty orange color, small to average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, malt bitter, a bit buttery, caramel and a firm bitter finish. Average carbonation, decent body.

Cask at GBBF 3016 - Day 4. Pours clear copper-gold with a frothy, off-white head. A bit of caramel malt in the aroma, along with toasted leaves and grains. Light sweet flavour with mild grassy bitterness, more toasted grain husk, leaves and some earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Finaihes with more toasty grains, leaves, mellow dried out caramel. A pretty OK bitter on the whole.
