0,33 l bottle. Pours out nearly black, only reddish edges. Big longlasting foamy tanned head. Malty with some fruityness on the nose. Taste starts smoky, malty background but no bacon. Earthy, also fruity. Little bit alcoholic sharpness. Coffie. Heavy stuff.

Bottle: Hazy, deep ruby-amber coloured, visible carbonation, creamy and stable tanned head; mild smokey traces in the caramelly-fruity and bitter nose; quite dry bitter flavour, sweet traces barely detectable, medium bodied, a bit tart; lingering dryish bitter-hoppy finish, caramelly and toasty-smokey traces underneath. Yes, a quite nice brew...

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Dark ruby brown colour, creamy beige head. Aroma of subtle smoke, quite sweet and malty, molasses, prunes and figs. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, burnt caramel, smoke, smoked plums, figs, some red fruits in there as well, hint of leather, soft bitter finish. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Really tasty Rauchbock-ish beer.

Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB 09/2016, large sample. Dark brown color, medium frothy head. Aroma has soft caramel, bit grassy and earthy hop, slight sulphury, touch of smoke, bit bready, some citrussy notes, candy. Bit sweet in taste, candy, slight earthy bitterness. Where is the smoke? Disappointing as a smoked beer, decent as an imperial alt or doppelbock or something alike.
