Hazy brown/red colour with a small head. Smells both cherry and christmas spices. Taste like a sweet christmas cookie with some cherry. A lot better when warm as recomended on bottle (70c). Also ok in room temperature.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Drank it cool. Dark red with no head. Spicy aroma of cloves, ginger, cardamom and loads of cherry. A little bit like swedish gingerbread. Similar taste. The perfect holiday beer.

Served warm from bottle, bought at Systembolaget. Pours red with some pink foam. Sweet, tart with some spicyness. More like glühwein than Swedish glögg.

(Bottle, half tried cold and half tried warm) Dark red colour. Cold, it’s flat with brief bubbly head. Warm, it gets a dense pinkish head. Fruity, spicy nose with notes of cherries, red fruit, spices (cinnamon, cardamom, clove) and a touch of caramel or toffee. Fruity, spicy taste with cherries, Swedish glögg (spicy, sweetened red wine served around Christmas), spices and a touch of treacle toffee. Medium body, quite sweet. Fruity, tasty and spicy. Preferred it warm, would work nicely on a cold winter’s eve. Nice one.

Bottle, courtesy of Toni, thanks! Strong sour cherry aroma, but with herbs and clear woodruff. Sweet on the tongue, but with a rather dry palate. Matching sourness. Very nice!

This was the first beer, at least in Belgium, intended to be served hot. Was quite a revelation in that sense and only few have followed this example. I tasted it at room temperature once, but the added spices (cinnamon, cloves and star aniseed?) are way too harsh then, rendering it hard to drink. At the intended 70° C, this is kind of enjoyable on icy days, much the same as Glühwein; burgundy colour, no head to speak of except some large and quickly vanishing bubbles; the aroma is not very beery, but still relatively complex, with lots of cherry, the aforementioned spices, passion fruit, grenadine, sugar and a lemony sourish accent. Same for the taste, sweet and spicy, very fruity, smooth, with a drying spicy finish. I honestly don’t like warm drinks that much, not even in winter, but this is admittedly quite charming. I have always preferred the regular version, though.

(Bottle, warmed to 70C, @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Dec 15 2014) Deep clear brownish red pour with a big pale pink head. Nose has lots of black cherries, brown sugar, spice box, raisin, light acidic funk. Flavour like aroma really, black cherry pie filling, sweet, lightly spiced with cinnamon etc., some other berry notes too. A little acid in the back, both lactic and acetic. Medium bodied with fairly low carbonation and a slight sticky feeling, maybe because the character feel makes me think it should be syrupy. Definitely was a lot better when warm, less sweet and cloying and more acidic in character. Much easier to drink then, when it made a decent substitute for a mulled wine.
