Bottle. Roast, vanilla and a hint of bourbon in the aroma. Creamy. Full bodied. Malty sweet, roasty creamy vanilla flavors. Sweet indeed, but not without complexity.

Sour roasted malt nose with a bit of whiskey and port. Full body, sour whiskey port medium coronation lots of dark fruit, dark fruit, like eating a ton of plums. A fantastic sour stout.

Black with thin head. The aroma has a dry woody tartness. Almost funky. Rich texture. Again a light tartness ip front before the bitter roasted malts push through.

Draft at Kaapse fest. Abv 9%. Aroma of red wine, oak, booze and some chocolate. Rich taste of red wine, boozy red fruit, oak, some chocolate, licorice and a long finish.

Tap at Kaapse 2nd Anniversary. Black with tan head. Roasted chocolate malts, berries, dark fruit, coffee, wine notes, wood notes. Over medium sweet, medium cocoa bitterness. Over medium body, low carbonation. Light grainy otherwise smooth texture. Nice stuff! Like the fruity and wine notes in the middle of all the dark flavors. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Barrel Aged Stout - Second Fill Glen Spey and Strathmill Whisky Casks on 21 May 2016 at 13:42 - Score: 8. Tap at Kaapse Brouwers festival as blend, also aged on wine barrels. Black with light brown head. Sour red fruits and red wine, coffee, lots of roasted malts, light seaweed, earth, dead leaves. Medium sweet and light sour and bitter. Full bodied with dry but sticky feel.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with very late awakening, very small, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, dark brown head. Very intense, dark chocolately dark malty aroma, truffles, some roast, some coffee, well matching whisky notes, wood, vanilla, alcohol. Taste is chocolately and roasty dark malty, slightly sweet, dark and milk chocolate notes, minimally tart, dry notes of leather; superbly integrated whisky flavours, well balanced overall. Very oily, viscid, sticky, smooth and soft palate, gentle, fine-pored carbonation. Unbelievably rich for its relatively low abv.

Bottle from the brewery. Black pour with a light tan lacing (head soon vanishes). Dark roast coffee, wood, oak and dark chocolate aroma. Quite a low carbonation. Flavours of coffee, molasses and dark chocolate. Long sweet finish.
