Swinckels’ is a full-malt pilsner that is brewed in Lieshout. Swinckels’ is made with a blend of Cascade hop from the American Yakima valley and the Polaris hop from the Hallertau region in Germany. These hops give Swinckels' its unique character, which can be described as slightly spicy and fruity with a refined bitter, concluding with a beautiful, smooth aftertaste. The combination of a unique blend of hop varieties, mineral water from Bavaria's own spring and especially selected wheat malt from Bavaria's own malting plant creates a unique flavour and gives Swinckels' its distinctive, complex and refreshing character.

330ml bottle. Clear, orange golden colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally grainy and strawy, pale malty and minimally perfumed, fruity and leafy, hoppy aroma, hints of tea, lemon tea. Taste is slightly bitter, minimally perfumed, leafy hoppy, hints of tea, lemon tea, a mineral touch, minimally grainy and bready-spicy, pale malty basis. Slightly oily texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously dry palate, fine and soft carbonation. Simple and focussed - not that bad.

Drunk straight from the bottle. Aroma and taste: solid sweetish malt, bread, grass. Hoppy aftertaste. Mouth feel: medium body, average carbonation. Summary: no way it's a Pilsber.

Thin beige head on a deep golden coloured body. Malt, bready & cereal aroma. Medium bodied, smooth, soft & cloying. Malt, bready, cigarette & jam tastes with a lightly hopped fruity finish. Standard.

Bottle via Beer 52 monthly sub, as Swinkels Superior Pilsner. Pours clear gold with a foamy white head. Aroma: light sweet, cereals, grains, light floral. Taste: moderate sweet & light bitter, crisp, grains, grass, light floral. Meh.

[33cl bottle of Swinckels Superior Pilsner from Beer52.] A bright straw coloured pour with a thin white head; clean grainy aroma; crisp grainy taste, fairly sweet; and a biscuity finish with a little dryness. Very drinkable.
